The World Owes Us Nothing

ONE QUESTION
Is who you are based on what you’ve achieved?
ONE THING TO PONDER
If every little problem ruins my day, it’s not that life is hard, it’s that my mind lacks resilience and perspective.
ONE PERSPECTIVE
The biggest achievements aren't hanging on our walls.
They're walking around in better shoes than they started in.
We complain about things being hard, like this unconscious expectation that growing and winning should be easy. Where did that come from?
We’ve become soft. If you don’t know me well, I can assure you that statement isn’t a judgment, it’s a plea….
We've been lied to. We’ve been told that struggle means something's wrong.
That hard means broken. That if it doesn't flow effortlessly, we should quit.
That is the poison that is killing our potential….and creating regret in the future.
Hard isn't the enemy. It's actually the very thing that creates you.
It SHOULD kick our ass. It SHOULD break us down and rebuild us to be stronger.

The work of becoming who you need to become? That's on you.
And honestly? That's the most liberating news you'll hear today.
The trophies, the promotion, the title, the recognition….these are mirages that disappear the moment circumstances shift.
We get the external validation, then we’re lost again looking to chase some other surface level shiny object.
But REAL winning? Real winning is becoming the version of ourselves that attracts those things naturally by doing hard shit!
Circumstantial winners are often one-hit wonders.
Winners built on character create legacies.
The money, the titles, the accomplishments show up when we become the version of person that earns those things.
The world owes us nothing but opportunity.
Legacy's aren't what we leave FOR people, it's what we leave IN them that matters.
And we can't leave something in others that we haven't first built in ourselves.
Yes, the path is hard.
Yes, you'll stumble.
Yes, there will be moments you question everything.
But here's the compassion in all of this:
You're not meant to walk this path perfectly. You're meant to walk it honestly.
The world needs the version of you that you're scared to become.
Onward and upward!

Diary of a CEO
This one is a mind bender. My friend Jen Hirschi shared this with me. I’m wrestling with this one. So many fundamental truths, and without awareness, we are traveling a dangerous road. This one really helps us understand how we operate, even when we think we’re in control, in a world of abundance, our minds and bodies aren’t sure how to operate most healthily. I’m going to make a challenge, a push for you to listen to this one. If not for you, for your kids, for your friends, for your family. |
