ONE QUESTION
Is the satisfaction of your life based on conditions?
ONE THING TO PONDER
The most difficult thing you’ll ever do is become a different version of yourself.
ONE PERSPECTIVE
I don’t feel like I fit in. I think it’s where I belong.
I don’t feel like I fit in the industry I’m in at times…
The social and economic class I’m in…
Being people driven, not just wealth driven…
…feeling on the outside is my norm.
‘Success’ is the byproduct for me, not the goal.
There's something achingly familiar about standing in a room full of people and feeling like you're speaking a different language, isn't there?
I've spent years chasing success the "right" way.
Made good money. I worked myself to the bone. Sacrificed sleep, relationships, peace of mind – the whole entrepreneur starter pack. Some of those sacrifices I'd make again. Others... well, others keep me up at night.
So I’m going to do it…my way.
Sometimes I wonder, “Am I the only one that feels this way?”
I’m not, and you’re not.
For Me, Not for You
Something shifted for me recently over the past 12 months. I stopped trying to convince people of my worth. Stopped performing my capabilities like a circus act.
Instead, I started asking myself a simple question:
"What if I just created the best thing I possibly could... for me?"
Not for the market. Not for the critics. Not for the people who think they know what success should look like.
Just for me.
Here is a beautiful paradox I’ve learned and am still learning:
When you create something authentic – something that comes from your deepest truth – it usually ends up serving others in ways you never imagined.
Too often we try to figure out what everyone else wants and create some watered down version of what it could actually do.
High Supply of Dreamers With a Shortage of Commitment
The world has no shortage of dreamers, but has a huge deficit in those willing to do the work and sacrifice some of our comforts
If we want to grow professionally, we’re going to have to learn, grow and develop skills. That requires time, effort and working more.
If you want to build wealth, that means you have to budget and follow it, rather than buying what you want when you want it. We don’t have a wealth problem, we have a spending problem.
If we want to be healthier, we can’t eat whatever we want. It requires discipline.
Some level of delayed gratification is required in any of those.
The Stories We Tell Ourselves
Here's where I might lose some of you, but I think it needs to be said with love:
How often do we say something "wasn't meant to be" when the truth is it simply wasn't important enough to us?
I'm not judging – I've been there too. We all have.
But maybe there's wisdom in getting honest about this. Maybe instead of carrying the weight of unfulfilled dreams, we can set them down gently and find what actually calls out the truth.
Because here's the thing: If we're not willing to do what's required to get what we want, then we have two choices:
Change what we're willing to do
Change what we want
Both are perfectly valid. But the middle ground – wanting something we won't work for – that's where suffering lives.
I don’t care if you want to be a multimillionaire or live in a tiny house in nature (sounds splendid). Sacrifice is a prerequisite.
Our differences aren’t a bug. They’re a feature.
The world doesn't need another carbon copy of success. It needs your unique perspective, your authentic voice, your particular way of serving.
The only question that needs to be answered is this…"What am I actually willing to do to get what I want?"
I’ll see you along the way!
Onward and upward!

CRAIG GROESCHEL LEADERSHIP PODCAST
This episode was super interesting. Really interesting thoughts around how to set up your day in a way that maintains your energy, how to cut through chaos that we are all subject to every single day, and how to simplify your schedule. The interesting thing is that I actually had some resistance to some of it, which also caused me to pause and really think about what I believe is most effective and helpful. Well worth the listen! |
